Join the Department of Psychiatry at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital and become part of a collegial team of adult, child and youth and geriatric psychiatrists providing care across acute and community settings.

This full-time opportunity offers a diverse scope of practice, with options to provide outpatient psychiatry, community mental health and substance use services and hospital-based care. Physicians with appropriate training may also have the opportunity to participate in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT).

You will work alongside an experienced interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, case management clinicians and rehabilitation professionals. Together, the team provides comprehensive care within a recovery-oriented, culturally safe and trauma-informed framework.

The position offers flexibility to shape your practice around your interests, with approximately 0.8 FTE dedicated to health authority service requirements and up to 0.2 FTE available for clinical interests, teaching or research. Opportunities are also available to contribute to medical education through the UBC Postgraduate Family Practice Residency Program and future psychiatry training initiatives.
