Baycrest Hospital Most Responsible Physician (Hospitalist) Date Posted: July 24, 2026 Baycrest, a globally recognized leader in aging and brain health and an Academic Health Sciences Centre fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, is seeking physicians to join our collegial and supportive physician group in a full-time or part-time capacity. Working in our subacute hospital setting, successful candidates will care for older adults with complex medical, cognitive and behavioural needs in an environment dedicated to advancing the care and wellbeing of older adults. MRP responsibilities may include Complex Continuing Care, Rehabilitation, Behavioural Neurology and inpatient Psychiatry. Physicians benefit from access to a highly specialized interdisciplinary team and a broad range of onsite clinical supports, including geriatric medicine, geriatric psychiatry, behavioural neurology, rehabilitation, wound care and ambulatory specialty services. This position will be based at Baycrest located at 3560 Bathurst St., Toronto, ON M6A 2E1. As a centre where clinical care, research and education come together, Baycrest offers exciting opportunities to participate in teaching, quality improvement and research with support from our Academic Funding Plan. Physicians will work alongside recognized leaders in geriatrics, brain health and healthy aging while contributing to advances in the care of older adults. Compensation will depend on the amount of clinical work performed based on fee for service billing, commensurate with qualifications. Baycrest is providing a generous stipend to supplement our post-acute hospital physicians, in addition to OHIP billings, HOCC funding for after-hours on-call coverage and AFP financial support for academic work with possible income in the range of $250,000 to $350,000, based on full-time work. The successful candidate(s) will hold certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Eligibility for a faculty appointment with the University of Toronto is preferred. While not mandatory, additional training in Care of the Elderly or Hospital Medicine and prior experience in hospital medicine will be considered strong assets.
