Medical Oncologist

The Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology, CancerCare Manitoba (CCMB), in conjunction with Shared Health; and, the Section of Hematology/Oncology, Department of Internal Medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba (U of M), are seeking applications for a full-time position of Medical Oncologist.

The Department of Medical Oncology and Hematology and the Section of Hematology/Oncology, consists of 43 faculty members based at three CCMB sites. The group operates active clinical and basic science research programs in medical oncology, quality of life in cancer, health services research and cancer epidemiology. We offer unique opportunities to develop new and innovative clinical and/or basic research directly or in collaboration with the Paul Albrechtson Research Institute, CCMB.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide high quality care to patients with genitourinary, breast, and GI related malignant disorders as part of a multidisciplinary team. Other expectations including participation in teaching programs at CCMB/ U of M and collaborating in oncology-related clinical or basic research program.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have specialty qualifications in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Medical Oncology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred.

Compensation:

This is a University of Manitoba academic appointment. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Competitive salaries and excellent benefits packages are offered.
