The Department of Pediatrics and Child Health is comprised of more than 100 full-time physicians representing all Pediatric Subspecialties and includes 8 full time PhD Scientists and over 150 other affiliated Faculty and Medical Staff Members. The Department of Pediatrics & Child Health and the Shared Health Child Health Program collaborate closely with the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba to improve the health and care for children in the province. The Section of Allergy and Immunology invites applications for a full-time Pediatric Allergist and Immunologist position.

This Section provides subspecialty pediatric allergy and immunology consultation services for children and families from Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario, and the Kivalliq region of Nunavut. Service is provided in pediatric subspecialty outpatient clinics, an inpatient consultation service, outreach clinics in northern and remote Manitoba communities, and the pediatric day unit.

Candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, should hold or be eligible for certification in Allergy and Immunology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and should have training and expertise focused on the pediatric population. The applicant will be expected to participate in the educational programs for undergraduate medical students and postgraduate pediatric residents.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in:
1) Clinical service in pediatric allergy and immunology in a position with substantial clinical responsibilities
2) Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate learners
3) Scholarly contributions to education, quality improvement, and research
4) Leadership skills, communication, and capacity for collaboration
5) Contributions through service to the Section, Department, Faculty, University, and broader community
