The Department of Surgery at The Moncton City Hospital (part of Horizon Health Network) is inviting applications for a full-time Orthopaedic Surgeon with fellowship training in arthoplasty. This permanent position will join a dedicated team of 7 orthopaedic surgeons, with a clinical focus on arthroplasty and revision. The successful applicant will participate in elective and trauma orthopaedic surgery, with dedicated OR access provided for Trauma. The Moncton City Hospital is a regional trauma centre serving a population of over 500,000 across southeastern New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and northern Nova Scotia. In addition to clinical duties, the successful candidate will be expected to: A candidate with a clear vision for arthroplasty focused contributions and leadership will be strongly considered. The Moncton City Hospital (MCH) is a 386-bed tertiary care teaching hospital affiliated with Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine. It serves as an arthroplasty referral centre and performs a high volume of joint replacements annually. The hospital is part of Horizon Health Network, the largest health authority in New Brunswick. • Compensation is through Fee for Service billing with Medicare NB
• 4 hours of Orthopedic clinic time per week • Even call distribution within the department • Support for clinical research and academic activities is available through institutional and provincial channels |

Qualification Requirements

| Education |
• Certification or eligibility for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Orthopaedic Surgery
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick • Fellowship training (minimum 1 year) in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty. • Coverage or eligibility for coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) • Demonstrated excellence in clinical skills, ethics, and professionalism as evidenced by at least three strong reference letters, one from the applicant’s residency/fellowship program director • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset but not mandatory |
