Cardiac Intensivist, Division of Cardiac Critical Care Medicine The Department of Critical Care Medicine, Division of Cardiac Critical Care at the Hospital for Sick Children is inviting applications for the position of full-time Cardiac Intensivist. The effective date of this appointment is July 1st, 2026 (negotiable). Primary Description Clinical responsibilities include being the Most Responsible Physician for critically ill children admitted to the CCCU. This includes being responsible for all management decisions, assessments and engagement and consultations with other clinicians in the care of patients admitted to this unit. Performing procedures as required while caring for critically ill children admitted to the CCCU. Providing advice to referring physicians from SickKids catchment areas who call “Criticall” to seek help when caring for a critically ill child at their hospital. This includes providing management suggestions and dispatching our Acute Care Transport Service (ACTS) clinicians to retrieve these patients and transport them to SickKids. Providing an in-hospital consultation service to assist in the care of acutely unwell children admitted to SickKids via Cardiology Consult Service. Responsibilities may also include participation in other collaborative teams within the Labatt Family Heart Centre depending on interests, experience, and qualifications. Additional Description Hospital/Division Description Remuneration will be between the range of $266,000 – $380,000 (at time of writing), for 35 hours per week plus on call responsibilities, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Periodic billing overage distributions may be received over and above base salary. Support for relocation expenses will be offered.
