DIVISION OF PAEDIATRIC MEDICINE Effective January 1, 2026, a full-time permanent faculty position for a Clinician Investigator in the Division of Paediatric Medicine, Department of Paediatrics is available at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), Toronto, ON. SickKids is an academic health sciences centre dedicated to the care of children; affiliated with the University of Toronto. The Division of Paediatric Medicine has a long tradition of excellence in clinical care, education and innovative research. Areas of clinical focus within Paediatric Medicine include general paediatric hospital medicine including the care of children with medical complexity, child maltreatment paediatrics and paediatric palliative care. Divisional fellowship programs encompass academic general paediatrics, paediatric hospital medicine, complex care, palliative care, community paediatrics and child maltreatment paediatrics, with graduating fellows finding academic positions across North America and around the world. Paediatric Medicine fosters an environment for independent and collaborative research within the SickKids RI and throughout the University of Toronto. The successful candidate for this full-time permanent position should be fully trained in Paediatric Medicine with specialty certification in Paediatrics. Clinical responsibilities include attending physician on general pediatric hospital medicine inpatient services and attending physician for an outpatient general pediatric consultation clinic. The successful candidate will also be required to actively participate in Divisional QI/patient safety activities, clinical teaching and supervision/mentorship of trainees. In addition, attendance at grand rounds, monthly Division business meetings and monthly ward chiefs’ meetings is required. In addition, to clinical expertise, the successful candidate is expected to lead and participate in the research activities of the Division and integrate with the Research Institute. The candidate must have research training and experience (master’s or PhD level), and be prepared to establish an independent research program, with the support, mentorship and supervision of the SickKids Research Institute. Areas of methodologic foci may involve expertise in data science, health informatics, interventional trials and/or other research approaches with applicability to paediatric medicine. The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($275,543 to $318,823) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. In addition, the successful candidate will be eligible for an associate scientist or associate scientist track appointment in the Research Institute. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance and a relocation package All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or the equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
