The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) is accepting applications for primary care physicians for the Extended Hours Primary Care Clinics (EHPCC).
The EHPCC Physician provides timely primary care services to Manitobans during evenings, weekends and holidays, which helps to enhance patient care access and coordination, timely access to diagnostics and follow up, and linkages to patients’ home clinics.
Responsible to the EHPCC Site Lead(s), and working collaboratively with all EHPCC site staff, the EHPCC Physician is responsible for providing high quality patient primary care within the EHPCC setting.

Duties & Responsibilities:
The EHPCC Physician main services and responsibilities are as follows:
• Appropriate care of EHPCC patients, including arrangement of testing, appropriate follow up of EHPCC patients, referrals, and linkages to patients’ primary home clinics.
• Participate in reasonable pro-rata share of virtual EHPCC appointment coverage, as scheduled by the EHPCC – Site Lead(s) or designate, in consultation with the EHPCC Physicians.
• Maintain appropriate records of care for patients, including standard charting of patient notes and, where appropriate, consultation/referral letters.
• Communicate with EHPCC patients, and other members of the EHPCC patients’ care teams, regarding EHPCC patient conditions.
• Appropriate use and professional collaboration with staff, consultants and delegated services in the EHPCC sites.
• Participation in team meetings, quality assurance meetings, and committee work, as determined by the EHPCC – Site Lead(s).
• Promote and foster a supportive, transparent and collaborative culture within the EHPCC.
• Actively support and demonstrate the Authority’s mission, vision, values, which includes adhering to policies and procedures, rules and regulations of the Authority.
• Participate in the educational component for undergraduate and postgraduate medical trainees, physician assistant trainees, nurse practitioner trainees, and other trainees, as required.
• Collaborate and partner with site, regional, and provincial leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of program and services related to the EHPCC and Community Family Medicine & Primary Care.
• Collaborate with Site, Regional and Provincial Medical Specialty Leads in the recruitment, and retention of Medical Staff at the EHPCC sites.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Regional Lead – EHPCC.

Qualifications:
• A medical practitioner qualified to practice Family Medicine in the Province of Manitoba and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
• Obtains and maintains a Medical Staff appointment with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority
• Demonstrated ability to work respectfully and harmoniously with all members of the health care team and external partners and agencies
