Our client, Stratford General Hospital, part of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance (HPHA), is a 120-bed hospital and the largest hospital in the HPHA. It is the regional referral centre for Huron and Perth County residents, offering a broad range of medical and surgical inpatient services. Surgical specialties include General, Orthopedics, Urology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ENT, Plastics, and Ophthalmology. The Stratford site also provides Critical Care and Neonatal Intensive Care Units, Maternal Child, Telemetry/Stroke (District Stroke Centre), Mental Health, Complex Continuing Care and Rehabilitation in-patient services. The Emergency Department is staffed by FRCPC and EM physicians and sees over 35,000 patients per year. Our client, Stratford General Hospital, is seeking full-time or part-time Anesthesiologists. Candidates must be certified, or be eligible for certification, by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and hold, or be eligible for, licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. CPSO pathway licensure is easily available for US Board Certified Physicians with new regulations implemented in 2023 that have created a straight forward licensure process without the requirement for supervision. With 6 FRCPC Anesthesiologists and 1 FM/A working at the Stratford site, the Anesthesiology Department covers the Operating Rooms, Obstetrical Services, and Preoperative work including 11,000 elective surgeries, 676 hip/knee arthroplasty surgeries, 1,200 deliveries including 350-400 C-sections (Level 2 NICU), and 300 pediatric cases per year. Anesthesiologists at HPHA have the opportunity to teach and mentor residents and medical students from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University, with professional staff members eligible to hold a University appointment. These full-time or part-time positions offer great flexibility and work/life balance and include a very attractive fee-for-service compensation with HOCC call stipend, relocation funding, and a generous return of service financial compensation incentive.
