Details:

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and Seven Oaks General Hospital (the “Site”) are inviting applications for the position of Site Medical Director in Urgent Care.
This position has a muliti reporting structure. Reporting to the Regional Medical Specialty Lead, Emergency, the incumbent will be responsible for overall planning and coordination of service delivery within the Authority. Where appropriate, the incumbent will consult and coordinate clinical activity with the Provincial Specialty Lead, Emergency. For hospital and site management responsibilities, the incumbent will report to the Hospital CMO or designate.

Primary Role:
1. To assist the Regional Medical Specialty Lead, Emergency (the “Lead”) in planning and coordinating a system-wide network.
2. To be the medical leader of the Urgent Care at the Hospital to ensure effective and efficient delivery of quality care.

Duties:
1. Ensures that the WRHA Hospital Medical Staff By-law and Rules and Regulations are observed by Site members.
2. Keeps the members of the Site informed as to WRHA policies, program objectives, and other relevant matters.
3. Supports the Hospital Mission, Vision and Values Statement
4. Attends/Chairs meetings
5. Develops linkages between Urgent Care and other stakeholders including but not limited to:
a. Other related clinical programs of the Hospital, agencies, partners
b. Paramedical services
c. Community agencies and programs
6. Performs regular performance evaluations of medical staff
7. Collaborates with other members of the Urgent Care Team to develop budgets and plans.
8. Promotes continuous quality improvement.
9. Initiates development of new program proposals that remains consistent with the strategic plan of the WRHA.
10. Establishes guidelines for service loads, patient management information systems, quality assurance policies and procedures.
11. Works with the WRHA to establish clinical standards common to all hospitals
12. Others duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Medical degree from a recognized university Licensed with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Manitoba (CPSM) Applicants with specialty training in Emergency Medicine encouraged to apply: Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada (Emergency Medicine) or Certificant of College of Family Physicians of Canada (Emergency Medicine) or ABEM (American Board of Emergency Medicine)
