POSITION DESCRIPTION: Horizon Health Network requires a full-time General Practitioner for their Operational Stress Injury Clinic (OSI) in Fredericton, New Brunswick. They would be an active member of the Department of Psychiatry in Fredericton and the multidisciplinary team serving military veterans and RCMP (active and retired) through the OSI Clinic which is funded by Veteran Affairs Canada. All members of the Department participate in regular Departmental meetings as well as regular educational sessions. Most members also participate in clinical supervision of medical students and residents, as they have affiliations with Dalhousie and Memorial Universities. Members employed at the Operational Stress Injury Clinic must maintain compliance with Veteran’s Affairs Canada’s outcome monitoring requirements. |

Remuneration

Remuneration |
This position will be remunerated under the New Brunswick Medical Pay Plan. Salary ranges from $198,068 - $216,190. With yearly increases after the last step.

Billing / Overhead Split |
You will be required to shadow bill under New Brunswick Medicare. You can bill additional fee for service earnings.

Vacation / CME Leave |
You will earn paid vacation and CME time.
|
Additional Benefits |
Health and Dental Plans are available to salaried physicians.
All new physicians or new to the province physicians are eligible to receive the New Brunswick Provincial Incentive of $50,000.00 with a 2 year return of service. $8000.00 in relocation expenses. |

Education |
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must hold a valid license to practice medicine in the Province of New Brunswick. • Must be a member in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick. • Must have current malpractice insurance from the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) appropriate to the category of practice. • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills. • Good attendance and work record. • Physically, mentally able to perform assigned duties. • Excellent experience in multidisciplinary team working. • Attend appropriate CME events as required by specialty. • Comply with the provisions of the Hospital Act, the Regional Health Authorities Act, Community Health Centre Regulation, the Medical Services Payment Act, and their regulations. • Comply with the Health Authority bylaws, rules and regulations, and policies and procedures. • Follow the Code of Ethics of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick and the Canadian Medical Association. • Maintain in good standing with appropriate professional and regulatory colleges. |

Horizon’s Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital (DECRH) is located in the city of Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick. This regional hospital is recognized as a centre of expertise for reconstructive and restorative medicine and a leading plastic surgery centre.
The DECRH provides undergraduate and graduate education experience for approximately 20 health disciplines and is a certified partner of the Dalhousie University Family Medicine program and the University of New Brunswick nursing program, and houses the Veterans Health Unit. A $250 million project to provide a state-of-the-art environment for maternal and newborn, intensive care, surgical care, day surgery, ambulatory procedures, phlebotomy, and health records service is underway (project schedule spans August 2016 to March 2024). Recent achievements at this facility include increased capacity on 4 West, completion of an Emergency Risk Assessment review to reduce workplace violence and a Recreation Therapy Responsive Behaviours project. |
