The Division of Respirology, Department of Medicine, University Health Network/Sinai Health (UHN/SH) at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto is seeking a Lung Transplant and Interventional Respirologist to join the Toronto Lung Transplant Program at the Toronto Hospital Department of Medicine. The location of practice is Toronto General Hospital, 585 University Avenue, Toronto, ON M5G 2N2.
The successful candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician-Investigator, with interest and demonstrated excellence in research, teaching and patient care activities. The successful applicant is expected to build a clinical and research program focusing on bronchoscopy and interventional procedures in lung transplantation. Advanced training and/or substantial clinical experience in both lung transplantation and interventional Respirology is required for this position. Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. Effective start date is July 1, 2025 or thereafter.
The successful candidate will join our existing group of 8 transplant respirologists supported by a large and growing multidisciplinary team including 9 thoracic surgeons, medical and surgical fellows, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurse coordinators, allied health professionals, and administrative staff. Clinical responsibilities will include pre- and post-transplant patient care including clinics, bronchoscopies and attending on our inpatient and consultation services. The Toronto Lung Transplant Program, residing within the Ajmera Transplant Centre at UHN, is the site of many world firsts in lung transplantation and continues to lead the world in volume of transplants, quality of care, health professional education, and clinical and research innovation. Candidate will also be eligible for a cross appointment to Sinai Health (600 University Avenue, Toronto, ON M5G 1X5)
The successful candidate must hold a MD degree or equivalent, be certified (or eligible for certification) in Respirology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and hold, or be eligible for licensure in Ontario.
Proficiency in English is required.
Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $300,000 – $380,000 (fee-for-service estimate) and commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience.
