CKHA operates two 24/7 Emergency Departments at sites in Chatham and Wallaceburg with annual visits that are approximately 40,000 and 15,000 visits respectively. Members of the Department work at both sites giving them a chance to use different skillsets. The Basics: Call, Payment and Schedule Generous remuneration is provided through our Emergency Department’s AFA. Hourly rates vary from $150 to $201 per hour. Cover a HOCC (Hospital On Call Coverage) shift and you will receive a daily coverage rate of $497.74 for either ED site as on call. On top of this, if you are called in to cover a shift, you are able to bill Special Visit Premium codes as shadow billing, and recoup additional funds upwards of 37% (Chatham) and 10% (Wallaceburg). Generous financial recruitment incentives ($$$) are currently being offered for fulltime recruits. Want to pair your ED shifts with a family practice or Hospitalist work? No problem! We live by fair and equitable scheduling where vacation is expected and supported. We agree that work/life balance is super important, so feel free to build your career the way you want with CKHA. We can offer you a small handful of shifts per month or if you want to work full-time in ED, we can offer up to 120 shifts per year between our sites. The scheduled shifts range anywhere from 8-14 hours, with the option to do a back-to-back 10+14 hour shift in Wallaceburg. The choice is yours! Who we’re Looking for Physicians with Emergency Medicine experience wanted. Awesome people preferred! Family docs and new grads welcome.
