Job Posting
full time Family Practice at Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority
Selkirk, Manitoba
Job ID: 17870

Description: Family Physician – Pinawa Primary Health Care Centre

Turn-key fully staffed clinic available in Pinawa Manitoba. Located an hour and fifteen minutes outside Winnipeg, Pinawa is a hub of outdoor recreation and peaceful lake living right next to the Whiteshell Provincial Park. A beautiful beach, renowned 18 hole golf course and riverfront nature trail is all within walking distance of the well-equipped clinic which is conveniently located within the 17 bed hospital. Each hospital room has a large picture window overlooking the boreal forest where deer and other wildlife offer a stunning show.

Pinawa is home to a small and attentive school division that boasts a well-developed outdoor education program that begins with their free forest school junior kindergarten. Pinawa is the perfect backdrop for your children to enjoy a forest school philosophy that is integrated into the curriculum. A new childcare facility has been announced for the community and is expected to be built in 2025.
Opportunities abound as our hospital transitions to a more flexible model of care so that you may enjoy a sustainable work-life balance and have time to take in all that Pinawa has to offer you and your family year-round.

Pinawa Clinic has two contract positions posted but fee-for-service work is also available depending on physician preference. Pinawa ER has transitioned to a shorter call shift running from 0800-2000. Interested physicians may also choose to join the ER call schedule in other higher volume centres such as Pine Falls or Selkirk. Pinawa has a CancerCare unit and physicians who are interested in training to augment their practice with this work as a GP-oncologist are provided paid education to pursue this opportunity. There are also opportunities for expansion into neighbouring communities such as the Lac du Bonnet Health Centre and Whitemouth Clinic.

The IERHA is interested to find healthcare providers who are passionate about longitudinal primary care to integrate into our existing multi-disciplinary team. This team currently includes public health nurses, dieticians, chronic disease nurses, pharmacists and community mental health workers. Physicians who establish their practice in Pinawa will find themselves well-supported by an experienced team of allied health providers as well as longstanding family physicians in the neighbouring communities. Enjoy working to your desired scope of practice in a clinic that is able to support procedural care including skin biopsies, casting of fractures, IUD insertions and cryotherapy with very reasonable and negotiable flat-rate overhead. Experience the efficiency that comes with being able to round on inpatients who are mere steps from your clinic space and then walk over to the beach for a quick swim at the end of a clinic day.

Leave your city commute behind and come discover the secret that is Pinawa.
