Up to 37.5 hours/week to a maximum 1,725 hours/year for contact for service physicians;
Participation is required for on-call services at the Prince County Hospital; frequency of on-calls is 1 in 3. Out of Province Short-Term Locum *Short-term offerings considered to be 1-10 days worked per month Remuneration Option: Flat Daily Rate 24-hour call shift – $3000/day Monday- Friday day shift (no call) – $2400/day Note: Holiday/weekend premiums are accounted for in flat rate. Physicians being remunerated under the daily rate model do not qualify for Blended Payment. Post call days will not be remunerated. Locums will be eligible for supports on off days as outlined in their Letter of Intent Physicians selecting daily rates are required to submit shadow billings for all medical services provided. Out of Province Long-Term Locum *Long-term assignments are minimum 10 days a month for no less than 6 months, with a defined start and end date. Remuneration Options (Select from the following 3 options): 1. Out of Province Short-Term Locum Supports
FEES: Reimbursement of the MCC-AMR Application Fee and PEI Application Fee costs. Coverage of cost of license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of PEI. Coverage of dues with Medical Society of PEI ACCOMODATION & TRAVEL SUPPORTS: Coverage of hotel accommodations during the length of the locum’s stay on PEI, up to $300/night (with receipts). Paid actual travel time ($50/hour) from home province to Prince Edward Island and return will be covered. Cost of one return travel to Prince Edward Island based on an economy airfare to a maximum of $2,000 (with receipts) If traveling by car, mileage will be reimbursed as determined by PEI Treasury Board Policy and bridge and road tolls reimbursed with submission of receipts. Reimbursement for travel by car is not to exceed the cost of economy airfare. Coverage of car rental up to $1400/week $100 per day living expense stipend will be provided for the days worked during the locum period. **Car rental and accommodations exceeding the rates indicated above require advance approval by the Locum Program Coordinator. Qualification Requirements

Education |
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada eligibility or certification;
Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island; Appointment to the Health PEI Medical Staff and appropriate privileging; US Boards are acceptable; and Work experience preferable. Atlantic Registry Starting May 1, 2023, physicians whose primary practice is in Atlantic Canada (and hold a general registration in either PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Newfoundland and Labrador) may be eligible to obtain registration to practice in all four Atlantic Canadian provinces via the Atlantic Registry. Health Care Workers are required to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination as per Health PEI’s Covid-19 Immunization and Management Policy.
