Health PEI is seeking a 1.0 permanent full-time equivalent General Radiologist to join the provincial Department of Diagnostic Imaging.

Based out of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown, PEI, the physician shall join a group of nine Radiologists providing provincial coverage at two provincial hospital sites, in a fully equipped community practice.

The candidate is expected to provide the full scope of Diagnostic Imaging. The candidate must be comfortable with interpretation of General X-ray, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, CT, and MRI. Ability to interpret Nuclear Medicine would be an asset.
The candidate is expected to have a general interventional skill set which includes ability to perform basic tissue biopsies in addition to other image-guided procedures such as abscess drains, paracentesis, thoracentesis, etc. Ability to perform lung biopsies would be an asset.
All after-hours imaging is currently provided by a teleradiology service. However, the local radiologists provide backup call in the event the service is disrupted. The candidate is therefore expected to participate in the backup call schedule. In the event of interruption of teleradiology services, the candidate would be required to participate in after-hours call coverage.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is operated by Health PEI, a crown corporation responsible for the delivery of publicly funded health services in Prince Edward Island. Health PEI’s head office is located at 16 Garfield Street, Charlottetown, PEI.

Full-time hours based on 1.0 FTE
Physicians will be compensated via a fee-for-services payment modality. Information related to on-call payments, CME funding, and more can be found in the Master Agreement.

Qualification Requirements
Education
Eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island;
Eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada;
Hold MCCQE Part I or Licentiate of Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) equivalent;
Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA);
Appointment to the Health PEI Medical Staff and appropriate privileging;
Work experience preferable with at least 1- 2 years of clinical experience working in Canada;
Formal leadership training would be considered an asset.
