Health PEI is seeking a full-time permanent Plastic Surgeon to join the Provincial Department of Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown.
Located in Prince Edward Island’s charming capital city, Charlottetown, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, a 243-bed provincial referral facility, is operated by Health PEI, a crown corporation responsible for the delivery of publicly funded health services in Prince Edward Island.

Health PEI’s head office is located at 16 Garfield Street, Charlottetown, PEI.

Remuneration
Remuneration
Salary Pay Model includes:
Hourly Rate: Hourly rate + 31% of approved shadow billings.
Hours: up to 37.5 hours/week, 1950 hours/year. *prorated for part-time.
Vacation: 4-6 weeks/year depending on experience. *prorated for part-time.
Sick: 11.25 hours/month for each continuous month of service.
CME: Up to 75 hours per year and $7000 per year (for 0.6 FTE or higher).
RRSP Contributions: Yes.
Group Insurance Benefits: Yes.
Contract for Services includes:
Hourly Rate: Hourly rate + 31% of approved shadow billings.
Hours: up to 1725 per year – can be divided by physicians as they like.
Vacation: Unpaid – Physician directed.
Sick: Unpaid – Physician directed.
CME: Funding available through MSPEI.
RRSP Contributions: Not applicable.
Group Insurance Benefits: Not applicable.
Fee for Service includes:
Hourly Rate: Billing as per the tariff.
Hours: Physician directed.
Vacation: Unpaid – Physician directed.
Sick: Unpaid – Physician directed.
CME: Funding available through MSPEI.

Full-time hours for a salaried physician is defined as 37.5 hours per week;
Full-time contract-for-service hours is based on a maximum of 1,725 hours per year; and

Additional Benefits
Qualified and licensable candidates may be eligible for a return-in-service grant of $100,000 with a 3-year (5,850 hour) commitment to Health PEI;
Eligible moving expense reimbursement is available;
Opportunity to teach Medical Learners and Residents with faculty appointment at affiliated universities;
Access to hospital-based electronic patient record system with lab and x-ray reports from office; and
Other incentives as per the Master Agreement. 
Qualification Requirements
Education
FRCPC or eligibility for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification.
Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island
Appointment to the Health PEI Medical Staff and appropriate privileging
Atlantic Registry

As of May 1, 2023, physicians whose primary practice is in Atlantic Canada (and hold a general registration in either PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia or Newfoundland and Labrador) may be eligible to obtain registration to practice in all four Atlantic Canadian provinces via the Atlantic Registry.
