Horizon Health Network, Saint John area (Region 2), is actively seeking one (1) full-time, Locum for Pediatric Neurology, with short-term and long-term locum options available. Join a Pediatric Department that believes in collaboration, teamwork, research, medical education and excellence in clinical care. Our vibrant department currently has eight General Pediatricians, one other Pediatric Neurologist (two in province), Endocrinology and four Neontologists, The Pediatric ward is a 20 bed inpatient unit. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a level 3 medical unit caring for neonates of all gestations excluding those with requiring general or cardiac surgery services, which are referred to the IWK Health Centre in Nova Scotia. There is capacity to perform Pediatric EEG and MRI on site. Research services is a support and vibrant department of Horizon and accessible for clinical research support.

Additional duties may be assigned from time to time as may be necessary to the operation of Horizon Health Network:
 Provide ambulatory care in a clinic setting which may include traveling to rural communities for outreach clinics.
 Provide inpatient care as required and requested by the Clinical Department Head.
 Practice in a collaborative fashion as a member of an interdisciplinary team and consult with members of other health professions as appropriate.
 Participates in departmental medical education initiatives.
 Provide on-call services during statutory holidays, evenings and weekends as part of the on-call schedule and EEG interpretation and reporting.
 Participate in medical practice that is compatible with the Health Authority’s mission, values and strategic directions

Remuneration
Remuneration
The remuneration rate for a locum would range from $273,959.40 / $140.49/hr (as a non-certified specialist, step A) to $333,075.60 / $170.81/hr (as a certified specialist, Step C). The remuneration is based on license, experience, and Medicare approval.
On call remuneration is Fee-For-Service which is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare New Brunswick.

Vacation / CME Leave
These amounts include the 10% locum benefit received in lieu of not receiving stat holidays, vacation, sick, etc.

Qualification Requirements
Education
A Medical Degree is required 
Experience
 
Certifications
 A medical degree is required.
 Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatric Neurology, or equivalent.
 Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
 Proficiency in English is required. Bilingual skills would be considered an asset.
 In accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada.
 Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills.
 Good attendance and work record.
 Physically able to perform assigned duties.
