BCHS is the area’s acute care facility, providing all of Brantford and Brant County’s specialty programs and services for our 120,000+ residents. The Emergency Department at the Brantford General Hospital is a high volume community Emergency Department with over 53,000 visits per year. It is a centre of excellence for POCUS training and teaching along with being a McMaster University Mac-CARE teaching site for the Grand Erie Six Nations and hosts its own Emergency Medicine SIM program.

We are currently recruiting for Full time Associate Emergency Medicine Physician to join our Brantford General Hospital Emergency Department. This position represents an opportunity to join a group of dedicated healthcare professionals in a progressive organization. Interested physicians must have independent practice license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and a CCFP Emergency Medicine (EM) certification or an emergency medicine fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent (e.g. American Board). Successful candidates will also need advanced ultrasound training. Candidates who do not have an EM certification or emergency medicine fellowship but have equivalent level experience will be considered on a case by case basis.

Compensation for this work is through the Emergency Department Alternative Funding Agreement (AFA) with the ministry with additional compensation for on-call via Hospital On-Call Coverage Program (HOCC). The pphysician will be eligible to apply for their own personal and professional benefits through the Ontario Medical Association or insurance provider of choice.

As a McMaster University Mac-CARE teaching site for the Grand Erie Six Nations, the successful candidate would be expected to participate in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners thus excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to an inter-professional care model are also essential.
