Requisition Title: Forensic Psychiatrist The Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Department of Psychiatry of The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), are seeking to recruit an Academic Psychiatrist – Forensic Psychiatry Division, to engage in research and creative professional activities, as well as to provide clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient program as part of the Forensic Division, Complex Care and Recovery Program. There are teaching opportunities with undergraduate and post graduate students, forensic psychiatry subspecialty residents and fellows. The successful candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Scientist and must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. CAMH is Canada’s premier addiction and mental health facility and a world leader in the diagnosis and care of patients with addiction and mental disorders, offering a wide spectrum of care, from treatment for the first episode to care for the severely and persistently mentally ill. It is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto, the largest and most prestigious research-intensive university in Canada. CAMH is seeking a psychiatrist to provide care with acute or persisting mental illness, including concurrent substance use disorders. The Forensic Service at CAMH is a growing and vibrant clinical program of over 190 inpatient beds, court and community programs, a sexual behaviors program and a correction-based mental health service. We have strong research involvement in multiple areas including correctional mental health, sexual behaviors, neurobiology of aggression, risk and secure recovery. Dr. Treena Wilkie |
