DIVISION OF CARDIOLOGY – ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY
THE HOSPITAL FOR SICK CHILDREN PAEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGIST – The Labatt Family Heart Centre

Effective July 1, 2023, the Division of Cardiology, Department of Paediatrics, at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) an academic health science centre dedicated exclusively to children, affiliated with the University of Toronto is recruiting a paediatric cardiologist.

The Division of Cardiology is fully integrated into the Labatt Family Heart Centre and works collaboratively to provide the highest level of clinical care in an academically focused, evidence-based, environment. The Division has a strong training and education program that attracts undergraduate and postgraduate trainees from around the world.

The successful candidate for this full-time permanent position should be fully trained in Paediatric Cardiology with at least one-year subspecialty training in Paediatric Echocardiography. The position would include several sessions each week supervising the Echocardiography Lab, including the performance, and reporting of transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms. The candidate would also undertake regular on-call coverage of the Echocardiography service and presentations in surgical conference. The candidate would also be expected to undertake a share of inpatient and outpatient general paediatric cardiology activities. Other clinical activities could be included in the job plan, according to the successful applicant’s interests. In addition, the candidate would be expected to conduct academic work in research, medical education and continuing professional activities.

All candidates must be able to function proficiency in English, hold an MD, MBBS or equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($255,000 – $350,000) a per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefit package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance, and a relocation package.
