Clinical Associate – Pediatric Anesthesiologist The Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is seeking to recruit a Clinical Pediatric Anesthesiologist. This is a one-year contract, and the effective start date is flexible. The Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine at SickKids plans to expand the clinical, educational and research capacities of the Department to meet the growing demands for specialized tertiary-level surgical and medical care provided by the Hospital. We are seeking candidates who have completed subspecialty training in Pediatric Anesthesiology. Clinical activities will include the perioperative care of children undergoing all types of surgical management, including neurosurgical, general/thoracic, plastic/craniofacial, orthopedic/spine, and otorhinolaryngology. The Department also provides care to children undergoing a wide variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including diagnostic and interventional radiology, GI, oncology, and burn injury management. The advertised position is during weekdays only and involves no overnight call duties. The Department is active in the education of anesthesia trainees, including medical students, residents, and fellows affiliated with the University of Toronto. Successful applicants must hold an MD degree (or equivalent), must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, and must be eligible for licensing in Ontario, Canada (College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, independent or academic license). Additionally, candidates must demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, and must function effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment. All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English. Candidates must obtain an appropriate Visa, if applicable. Remuneration will be competitive with equivalent academic pediatric anesthesia positions in Canada (no overnight call duties), with a salary range of $200,000-$250,000 per year.
