Horizon Health Network, The Moncton Hospital (Region 1) is actively seeking locum/permanent full-time Emergency Medicine Physicians to fill immediate and upcoming needs. Successful candidates will be expected to work clinically in the Department of Emergency Medicine at The Moncton Hospital and will also participate in educational and CPD programs, with opportunities to teach within Dalhousie University, Faculty of Medicine. Clinical excellence, an interest in teaching the health care professions and a keen interest to work effectively on interdisciplinary teams involving all levels of health care providers are essential attributes in our growing, collegial environment. The following outlines the basic responsibilities. Additional duties may be assigned from time to time as may be necessary to the operation of the department: Hours of work are agreed upon by the physician and the Clinical Department Head. Currently, full-time hours of approximately 20-30 hours/week and/or 12-15 shifts/month are available. |

Remuneration |
Remuneration for Emergency Physicians is sessional at the rate of $231.58/hour and is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare of New Brunswick. No source deductions can be provided.

Education |
QUALIFICATIONS:
A medical degree is required. Certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Emergency Medicine (FRCPC); or College of Family Physicians of Canada - Emergency Medicine (CCFP-EM); or College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) with a willingness to obtain a certificate of added competence (CAC) in Emergency Medicine; ABEM; FRCEM, or equivalent. Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick. Maintain malpractice insurance from the Canadian Medical Protective Agency (CMPA) appropriate to the category of practice. Candidates must be eligible for an academic appointment from Dalhousie University. Current or previous certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS). Proficiency in English is required. Bilingual skills would be considered an asset. Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills. Good attendance and work record. Physically able to perform assign duties. |
