Head, Division of Immunology & Allergy, Department of Paediatrics Join our team and be part of our bold new strategy for Precision Child Health to usher in a new generation of discovery, prevention, and treatment for children worldwide. Effective July 1, 2022, the Division of Immunology and Allergy is seeking a full-time permanent faculty position as Head, Immunology and Allergy, Department of Paediatrics, at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Ave., Toronto, ON which is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children: affiliated with the University of Toronto. The Division of Immunology and Allergy takes pride in its basic and translational research, world-renowned care, and educational training program. The Division is dedicated to supporting the growing diversification and spectrum of specialized clinical services. Our research focuses on inborn errors of immunity and the Food allergy and Anaphylaxis Program (FAAP). Supported through philanthropic funding, the FAAP is an institutional priority in clinical and translational research with a goal to build a world-leading program through advancing teaching, diagnostic accuracy, and development of novel treatment approaches for food, allergy, and anaphylaxis. The Division offers a comprehensive and accredited subspecialty residency program. Canadian and international trainees have embraced the opportunity to pursue the followship, enabling trainees to gain in-depth experience in a broad range of clinical and theoretical immunology and allergy, including translational research. The Divisional clinical care programs encompass diagnosis and treatment of complex allergic disease, oral immunotherapy, drug and vaccine allergy and the complete portfolio from newborn screening to post hematopoietic stem cell transplantation care and complex syndromes of immune dysregulation. The successful candidate will act as a key steward and mentor for our diverse faculty and trainees, be a key collaborator with our allied health and nursing partners, and an innovative partner to our scientists in our world-class Research Institute. By championing clinical services, education, and research discoveries, you will advance the discipline of paediatric Allergy and Immunology. You will play a key strategic role to ensure the alignment of academic activities to the Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. The successful applicant will hold a leadership role and will possess mentoring experience with a track record of academic and research excellence in the field of Immunology and Allergy. The applicant will demonstrate vision for child and youth health. The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($290,000-350,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
