The Northern Health Authority is seeking 0.5 FTE Permanent Physician in Queen Charlotte, BC. This is an exciting opportunity to practice medicine in one of the most beautiful places in BC – Haida Gwaii. The brand new hospital officially opened in September 2016. The Queen Charlotte Islands Hospital is a 16-bed facility which serves the local population and residents of surrounding villages and isolated forestry camps. Community Description |
Haida Gwaii consists of between 150 and 200 islands off the northwest coast of British Columbia. Queen Charlotte is the largest community and is located at the south end of the Graham Island, providing services to a population of approximately 3,000. There are many local historical sites, and art and cultural activities. Local industries include forestry, commercial fishing and tourism.
