Education |
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology requires that members practicing Maternal Fetal Medicine be a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada with subspecialty certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine from an accredited program to be eligible for active membership. Candidates with Royal College eligibility may be considered.

The Moncton Hospital Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic is a referral centre which covers approximately 3600 deliveries and has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. All major services and subspecialties are available. Build of a new, more family‐centred maternity and newborn care unit will soon be completed at The Moncton Hospital. Construction began in late 2020, with occupancy expected in January 2023. The new Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic will provide a comfortable and modern space for women during high‐risk pregnancies. It will be adjacent to the labour and delivery unit, neonatal intensive care unit, providing a seamless continuity of care. The Moncton Hospital offers excellent opportunities for teaching and clinical research. It has academic affiliations with Dalhousie University and Memorial University of Newfoundland, including core rotation for Memorial University of Newfoundland obstetrics/gynecology residents (PGY3). The hospital is one of the largest employers within metro Moncton, employing 3,000 staff and physicians. |
