We are recruiting for a half time (0.5 FTE) primary care physician for the Coast Tsimshian mobile Primary Care Team to cover Maternity Leave for six – nine months beginning April 19, 2021. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative partnership between four Coastal First Nation communities, the First Nations Health Authority and Northern Health.
The position is a blended model of telehealth and in-person care, which translates into 70-87.5 hours/month. You will be based in Prince Rupert with the rest of the Primary Care Team, which currently includes a team leader and a medical office assistant. Travel consists of visits to four Coast Tsimshian communities – Lax kw’alaams, Gitxaala, Gitga’at and Metlakatla. Travel has been intermittent due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to the salaried position, there are also weekly shifts available in the ER and Maternity care units, for those who are interested. These are billed fee-for-service.
The Coast Tsimshian Primary Care Team is connected to, and supported by, the Prince Rupert Primary Care Network to delivers care that is comprehensive, responsive and as close to home as possible.

The EMR platform (MedAccess) and NH Cerner OS are used to strengthen care and connectivity to and from the communities. Rapid access to primary care and specialist support, both locally and through video link/telehealth technology, ensures you’re supported in your care delivery in remote communities.
