Pediatric Anesthesiologist

The Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine at The Hospital for Sick Children is inviting applications for the position of Pediatric Anesthesiologist. This is a permanent, full-time position. The effective date of this appointment is as soon as possible.

Description – The candidate must have a strong clinical/educational background with fellowship training in pediatric anesthesia, and have or be pursuing an advanced degree in Clinical Epidemiology. The successful candidate is expected to complement the Department’s clinical, educational and research productivity. The individual will be responsible for developing her/his own specific clinical research focus in pediatric anesthesiology. Responsibilities include clinical pediatric anesthesia practice, research, education, and administrative responsibilities as required by a staff anesthesiologist. Evidence of excellence in research and teaching is required.
The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher at the University of Toronto. In addition, he/she will be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

SickKids is a paediatric academic health science centre, affiliated with the University of Toronto, dedicated to the care of children. The Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine is comprised of 38 anesthesiologists, and provides perioperative care for neonates and children.

Salary will be between the range of $200,000 – $416,000 as well as commensurate with qualifications and experience.
