Staff Surgeon, Division of Plastic Surgery The Hospital for Sick Children The Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children, is inviting applications for the position of Academic Surgeon with a focus on pediatric burns. This appointment is for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Toronto. The effective date of this appointment is to be decided. The successful applicant will work within the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and participate in the care of pediatric burn patients in addition to providing general care to the pediatric plastic surgery patient population. Advanced training in burn care and pediatric plastic surgery is required. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Life, Group Insurance, Pension, Vision. Salary will be between the range of $350,000-$550,000 for 40 hours per week. The successful candidate should possess research skills through advanced training and have a publication track record. Preference will be given to applicants with a basic science or health services research interest, in order to add to the body of knowledge through original research. The candidate is expected to participate in medical student, resident, and fellow education. The candidate’s application should demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the University of Toronto at the rank of Assistant Professor. The candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
