DIVISION OF NEONATOLOGY THE HOSPITAL FOR SICK CHILDREN A fulltime permanent faculty position for a Clinical Director in the Division of Neonatology, Intensive Care Unit is available effective July 1, 2018 at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Avenue, Toronto, ON, which is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children; affiliated with the University of Toronto. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the Hospital for Sick Children is the designated regional neonatal referral centre for Central East Ontario with 34 beds and 700 – 800 admissions annually and provides quaternary care to high risk newborns and practices family centered care. The primary role of the NICU Clinical Director is to provide leadership in the promotion of clinical practice standards to ensure that optimal clinical care is provided to the neonates in the NICU. The Clinical Director works collaboratively with the Child Health Services Manager, and under the direction of the Chief, Division of Neonatology. The Director acts as a leader and role model for the inter-professional staff. The successful applicant should be recognized at the nation/international level for his/her expertise in the field of Neonatology and should be actively involved in research related to the field of neonatology. The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($260,000 – $320,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance and a relocation package and may be eligible for a one time signing bonus and/or mortgage assistance. All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English and must have completed subspecialty training in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and be eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or American Board of Pediatrics and Cub Board of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
