The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking applications for the position of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Grace Hospital.

Reporting jointly to the Chief Medical Officer, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) and Chief Operating Officer, Grace Hospital, the CMO is responsible for leadership and coordination of medical services which contribute to the performance of the organization and promote patient flow and quality of care.

The CMO is committed to the integration of acute and community programs and improving the level of patient/client care provided. The CMO will ensure the highest quality of physician practice through the recruitment and retention of physicians and managing performance as required.

Qualifications:

Medical degree and Licensed with The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba to practice medicine in the Province of Manitoba Formal training in health care administration an asset A minimum of five (5) years administrative and/or leadership experience involving medical staff preferred. Eligibility for Medical Staff Appointment in the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority Ability to innovate in health zone delivery and foster a culture of operational excellence, innovation and continuous improvement. As a proactive leader, you also will play an active role in leadership development for medical staff. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships Evidence of leadership ability, creativity, integrity, initiative, and fiscal management Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong collaborative, communication, interpersonal, and team skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensures delivery of high quality clinical services at Grace Hospital
2. As a member of the Executive Team, provides shared operational oversight of the clinical programs and fosters inter-professional collaboration
3. Represents Grace Hospital while working closely with the WRHA regional programs and other facilities, to ensure an integrated, efficient and effective health care delivery system within Winnipeg and Manitoba
4. Focuses on quality, coordination, collaboration, and delivery on defined outcomes
5. Plans and prioritizes clinical services
6. Fosters a supportive and effective learning environment, and partnership with the University Of Manitoba and other academic institutions
7. Provides leadership as a member of the Executive Team in formulating organizational strategies and establishing goals and objectives
8. Leads innovation in healthcare delivery and fosters an environment and culture of continuous improvement
9. Leads the physician engagement strategy by creating conditions for effective physician involvement in clinical transformation
10. Monitors and manages physician performance and quality.
11. Participates actively in medical staff leadership development
12. Helps to ensure a respectful workplace and ensures compliance with medical staff bylaws
