Clinical Pharmacology _ Paediatric Sub-Specialty Effective January 1, 2025 the Department of Paediatrics, Temerity Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Division of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, at The Hospital for Sick Children, 555 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, an academic health science centre dedicated exclusively to children, affiliated with the University of Toronto, is recruiting a full-time permanent staff physician. It is possible for this position to include a dual appointment in a second Division, either Paediatric Hospital Medicine or an alternative pediatric sub-specialty Division (cardiology, respirology, etc), based on the training and interest of the candidate. The successful candidate’s role will involve provision of clinical care for children in both the Division of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology (majority), as well as their secondary Division based on their specialty training. In Clinical Pharmacology, the candidate will provide faculty oversight of an inpatient consult service and also an ambulatory drug adverse reaction and toxicology clinic. In Paediatric Hospital Medicine, the candidate will rotate between multiple service roles at the Hospital for Sick Children. In alternative sub-specialty Divisions, the clinical work will be dictated by a joint discussion between the candidate and the two Division heads. The successful candidate will also have time to pursue academic interests which can focus on any of the following: health professions education, quality improvement or clinical / translational research. All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. This position will remain open until filled. The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($220,000-242,000) per annum will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
