The University of Manitoba, Department of Surgery, and Winnipeg Regional Health Authority invite applications for a full-time academic General Surgeon. The successful candidate will join the Section of General Surgery at the Grace General Hospital and the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The proposed starting date is September 1, 2023, (or on a date mutually agreed upon).

The position does have ample non-clinical time where a commitment to education or research would be a strong asset to the group. The candidate will work in a group practice and postgraduate and undergraduate teaching will be assigned to the successful candidate in an equitable fashion.

The candidate must be eager to work in a group setting, showing commitment to working in a collegial and supportive manner.

This is a geographical full-time, contingent position and the successful candidate will be eligible for an appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor (or higher depending on current academic rank) in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, Max Rady College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba.

Qualifications:

Successful applicants must be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba and must have completed at least one year of fellowship training in minimal access surgery or acute care surgery.

The candidate must be skilled in community surgical procedures and emergency general surgery. Endoscopy training is encouraged.

Compensation:

Renumeration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
