The Department of Medical Imaging at The Moncton Hospital has a group practice structure whereby work is divided equally; and radiologist fee-for-service income is pooled and shared among the group members. This maintains a collegial atmosphere whereby high-quality clinical services can be provided without being impacted by financial considerations. It also allows individual radiologists to specialize in less well remunerated areas of practice or procedures without seeing a reduction in income in comparison to their peers in the department. All new radiologists joining the Department are expected to join this group structure.

The Medical Imaging Department requires that their members have passed the examinations of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in their specialty in order to be eligible for active membership.
