Details: Shared Health and the University of Manitoba, Section of Pediatric Neurosciences is seeking to recruit a Pediatric Neurologist for a one-year term commencing February 10, 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will have inpatient and ambulatory patient care responsibilities in a tertiary care facility and teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A Nil appointment with the University of Manitoba will be offered on a term basis. The incumbent joins the existing Pediatric Neurology team members and share the service needs in the Section. Qualifications: Compensation: Location: The Section of Pediatric Neurology evaluates children with a wide variety of neurological abnormalities including seizure disorders (epilepsies), strokes, tumors, ataxia, headaches, neuromuscular disorders, metabolic and degenerative diseases, infectious diseases, developmental malformations and developmental delay. Opportunities for research exist and clinicians with commitment and interest in collaborative and independent research are encouraged to apply. The successful applicants will join a Section of a total of six full time academic pediatric neurologists that work closely with Pediatric Neurosurgery. The Section of Neurology also includes three pediatric neurology nurse clinicians and five EEG technologists. The EEG Laboratory provides routine EEGs, ambulatory EEGs and Video EEG Monitoring on an inpatient and outpatient basis. The Department of Pediatrics and Child Health is comprised of more than 95 geographical full-time physicians representing all Pediatric Subspecialties, as well as with 7 full time PhD Scientists and many more primary affiliated Faculty Members. The Department of Pediatrics & Child Health and Shared Health Child Health Program collaborate closely with the Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba to improve the health and care for children in the province. The Pediatric Neurology Program is highly regarded for excellence in patient care, education and research. Research and continuing education are an integral part of the program, that has a strong reputation for inter-disciplinary collaboration and patient centered care.
