Shared Health, and the University of Manitoba, Department of Surgery (business addresses noted below), are inviting applications for a Pediatric General Surgeon to fill our labour shortage in Manitoba. Main job duties include diagnose and treatment of diseases, prescribing medications and treatment, ordering lab tests and x-rays and other diagnostic procedures, consulting with other physicians as required, and medical research.

Care will be primarily based out of the Children’s Hospital at the Winnipeg Health Sciences Centre. Teaching medical students and residents within the operating room and in didactive settings is a significant component of the position. Clinical and/or basic science research is expected based on the interest of the applicant.

The successful candidate would also be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, and appointed as a geographical full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Pediatric Surgery. The successful candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Additional postgraduate training in education or research would be an asset.

Compensation:
