The University of Manitoba, Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and Shared Health Manitoba invite applications for a full-time locum Head and Neck Surgeon to commence on August 1, 2022 (or on a date mutually agreed upon).

This is a locum position appointment at the rank of Lecturer (or higher depending on current academic rank) in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, Max Rady College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba.

The position encompasses inpatient and ambulatory patient care responsibilities and requires individuals with clinal and teaching skills to further the aims of the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and tertiary care medicine.

The position will be located primarily at Health Science Centre, with secondary responsibility at other sites within the Region.

The Program incorporates a rich mix of emergent and elective Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. The Health Sciences Centre Winnipeg provides comprehensive Otolaryngology care to a population base of 1.2 million people.


Candidates must have specialty qualifications in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery in the country of current practice and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. The successful candidate should be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Applicants will have fellowship training in Head and Neck Oncology (or equivalent). Additional skills including advanced degrees would be beneficial; a commitment to education, research and /or other academic pursuits is desirable but not required.

The candidate must be eager to work in a group setting, showing commitment to working in a collegial and supportive manner with the surgeons at the site. The site is hoping to expand its footprint in residency education and build on an already exemplary track record or resident and medical student teaching.


Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
