General Psychiatry Clinical Associate Position, Women’s College Hospital

Women’s College Hospital’s Department of Psychiatry is seeking a psychiatrist to join our General Psychiatry Program. The main clinical focus of this position involves providing general psychiatric assessments to outpatients referred from family practice and medical/surgical subspecialties at Women’s College Hospital. Opportunities may include Collaborative Mental Health Care roles within WCH Family Practice and with community partners.

WCH’s General Psychiatry Program strives to employ a trauma-informed lens to all services, and to provide an inclusive environment and equitable services to people in all their diversity (https://www.womenscollegehospital.ca/care-programs/mental-health/general-psychiatry-program/). The program’s interdisciplinary team aims to empower individuals to effectively manage their mental health symptoms, through the use of evidence based therapeutic modalities. The team consists of psychiatrists, mental health therapists, and a social service worker, as well as students in these fields. Situated in an academic hospital, the program is committed to clinical innovation, education and research with a specific focus on WCH’s strategic goals related to advancements in health system innovation, virtual care and revolutionizing health care for women in the service of equity for all.

This posting is for a part-time or full-time Clinical Associate position (one-year term, potentially renewable). There will be an option for a hybrid work model, with support for remote work.

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) in Psychiatry by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in General Psychiatry, must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario. All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English. Compensation will be based on a fee-for-service structure.
