Shared Health (1502-155 Carlton Street, Winnipeg MB R3C 3R9), the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and the University of Manitoba (business addresses noted below), invite applications for a full-time academic General Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon to fill our labour shortage in Manitoba. Main job duties include diagnose and treatment of diseases, prescribing medications and treatment, ordering lab tests and x-rays and other diagnostic procedures, consulting with other physicians as required, and medical research, which job duties encompass 80% of the position.

The position encompasses inpatient and ambulatory patient care responsibilities and requires individuals with clinical and teaching skills to further the aims of the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and tertiary care medicine.

The successful candidate would also be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, and appointed as a geographical full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, which job duties encompasses 20% of the position. Job duties are required in English.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Plastic Surgery. The successful candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba.

The candidate must be eager to work in a group setting, showing commitment to working in a collegial and supportive manner with the surgeons at the site. The site is hoping to expand its footprint in residency education and build on an already exemplary track record of resident and medical student teaching.

Compensation:

Compensation is derived from fee-for-service income with a minimum income guarantee of $586,500.00.
