The Moncton Hospital, Horizon Health Network, New Brunswick, is recruiting a locum general surgeon from April 1 to August 30, 2022. The department at present consists of 6 general surgeons (2 of them are HPB), 2 thoracic surgeons, and 2 vascular surgeons. One general surgeon is on leave until the end of August, and that is the position that is open for locum. Applicants must hold FRCSC and will be expected to participate in the general surgery call schedule and teaching of residents. We are NCIC affiliated and opportunities exist for research. The hospital recently transformed two ORs into state of the art MIS suites as well as completed a new outpatient complex including an up-to-date GI/endoscopy suite, clinics and minor OR suites. Remuneration |
Standard remuneration is fee-for-service which is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare of New Brunswick. No source deductions can be provided. On call remuneration is fee for service. The locum physician will be responsible to assume the cost of office overhead and admin support.
However, under special circumstances, with approval from the Department of Health of New Brunswick, a salaried model may be available. This may range between a minimum of $253,058 to a maximum of $279,682 annually (excluding benefits and source deductions) based on qualifications and experience. Locums receive 10% in lieu of benefits. On call remuneration is fee for service. |
