Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time

Wage: Fees are on a Fee for Service basis with Alberta Health. The Fee for Service schedule earnings would be dependent upon the number of people seen and the procedures done as per the billing schedule. A full time specialist should be able to make $20,000.00/month.

Education: Earned doctorate degree

Languages: English

Experience: – Experience in chronic pain patient consultative and case management considered an asset

Ability to Supervise: 11-15 people

Security and Safety: Criminal record check

• Act as a consultant to other physicians.

Specialization in Clinical Medicine:
• General Practice license with specific experience with Chronic Pain Management to include both consultative and interventional skills; or
• A specialist license with consultative Chronic Pain Management and Interventional skills.

Personal Suitability: The successful applicant will show initiative and have excellent oral and written communication skills. We are searching for a team player who is dependable and client focused with effective interpersonal skills. The applicant must be sensitive to the culture and politics of chronic disease and chronic pain, with skills in interventional clinical practice considered a strong asset. The applicant must be organized and reliable and comfortable working in both a team setting and an independent practice. The physician is not required to be a specialist, but does need experience in consulting, sensitivity to culture, and be willing to follow chronic pain patient’s long term when needed.

Work Setting: Private practice

Specialist in Clinical Medicine Specific Skills: Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures, Prescribe medication and treatment and refer patients for surgery, Diagnose and treat diseases and physiological or psychiatric disorders

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II), Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
