Shared Health and the Department of Internal Medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, invite applications for a full-time physician in the Section of Geriatric Medicine. The section is one of 17 in the Department of Internal Medicine, providing patient care, undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education, and research.

This is a GFT academic appointment within the Section of Geriatric Medicine. The Section has access to substantial resources within the health system, at two academic health centres one community-based hospital, geriatric day hospitals, geriatric outreach teams, low acuity sites, and inpatient rehabilitation sites. There are presently 6 full-time academic geriatricians, as well as non academic geriatricians and Care of the Elderly physicians.

The successful applicant will participate in Geriatric Medicine clinical services. The successful applicant will have academic potential, including demonstration of effective interdisciplinary communication and a track record of prior clinical work in Geriatric Medicine. They must also have clinical and teaching skills to further the aims of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in this specialty.

This is a geographical, full-time, contingent position, with a start date negotiable based on the successful candidate’s availability, for a term of 5 years, renewable upon favorable review.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have specialty qualifications in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine in the country of current practice and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred.

Compensation:
