The Department of Internal Medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, and Shared Health Manitoba invite applications for a full-time physician in the Section of Infectious Diseases. The section is one of 17 in the Department of Internal Medicine, providing patient care, undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education, and research.

This is a GFT academic appointment within the Section of Infectious Diseases. The Section has access to substantial resources within the health system, primarily at two academic health centres and one community-based hospital. There are presently 8 full-time academic infectious diseases physicians within the Section with major clinical and investigative responsibilities in infectious diseases, and additional part time members.

The successful applicant will participate in the Infectious Disease inpatient and outpatient consultation service and function as a clinical research expert in immunocompromised host/transplant infectious disease with an interest in clinical research focusing on infectious complications among immunocompromised individuals.

The successful applicant will have academic potential, including demonstration of effective interdisciplinary communication and a track record of prior clinical work in Infectious Diseases. They must also have clinical and teaching skills to further the aims of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in this specialty.

This is a geographical, full-time, contingent position commencing August 1, 2021or as soon thereafter as possible, for a term of 2 years, renewable upon favourable review. Salary and rank will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.


Candidates must have specialty qualifications in Internal Medicine and Transplant Infectious Diseases in the country of current practice and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred.
