Winnipeg MB R3C 3H8) and the Department of Internal Medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba (business addresses noted below), invite applications for a full-time physician in the Section of Infectious Diseases. Job duties include diagnose and treat infectious diseases including ordering lab tests, x-rays and other diagnostic procedures which encompasses 55% of the position. The successful applicant will participate in the Infectious Disease inpatient and outpatient consultation service and function as a clinical research expert in immunocompromised host/transplant infectious disease with an interest in clinical research focusing on infectious complications among immunocompromised individuals.

The successful candidate would also be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, and appointed as a geographical full-time member of the Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, which job duties encompasses 45% of the position. Job duties are required in English.
The Section has access to substantial resources within the health system, primarily at two academic health centres and one community-based hospital. There are presently 8 full-time academic infectious diseases physicians within the Section with major clinical and investigative responsibilities in infectious diseases, and additional part time members. The section is one of 17 in the Department of Internal Medicine, providing patient care, undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing education, and research.


The successful candidate must hold a Doctor of Medicine Degree with specialization in Internal Medicine and Transplant Infectious Diseases. The successful candidate must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Specialty training in transplantation infectious disease is required.

The successful applicant will have academic potential, including demonstration of effective interdisciplinary communication and a track record of prior clinical work in Infectious Diseases. They must also have clinical and teaching skills to further the aims of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in this specialty.


Compensation is derived from a blend of fee-for-service income (wage range approximately $200,000 to $300,000) as well as an additional stipend of $55,375.00.
