The Division of Hematology at Queen’s University is growing. We seek an additional Hematologist to join our group as a full-time academic faculty member, ideally to fulfill the role of Division Chair. Individuals with expertise in either benign or malignant hematology are encouraged to apply.

The Division of Hematology is housed within the Department of Medicine, with very close ties with the Department of Oncology. It comprises ten faculty members, and also benefits from excellent collaborative working relationships with the Departments of Pathology and Molecular Medicine and Pediatrics. The group provides clinical care to a large catchment area with specialty clinics including bleeding disorders, and a well-supported in-patient program including acute leukemia and autologous stem cell transplantation. There is a thriving subspecialty training program, as well as high-quality externally funded research programs. The successful applicant will be responsible to the Division of Hematology within the Department of Medicine and Department of Oncology. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of providing exemplary clinical service and a strong academic portfolio. Applicants must exhibit potential for teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as an ability to engage in collaborative research and contribute to the administrative functions of the University and hospitals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills and display an ability to work in a collaborative environment. Protected research time would be considered for an appropriate candidate.
For the Division Chair role, the successful applicant will be expected to oversee the activities and contributions of the Division of Hematology in the areas of clinical excellence, research initiatives and outstanding teaching. The Chair would join the leadership team of the Department of Medicine comprised of fourteen divisions. The successful applicant must demonstrate strong leadership skills and he/she would be expected to have experience in a leadership role.

Qualification Requirements
Education
Candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Preference will be given to those who either hold or are eligible for certification in hematology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada 
Experience
