The Department of Pediatrics and Child Health, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba and Shared Health are seeking applications for a full-time position in the program of Genetics and Metabolism.

The Genetics and Metabolism Program provides services to over 5,000 patients annually through clinics and in-patient consultations covering all aspects or genetics care including general genetics, prenatal diagnosis, metabolic disease, and cancer. The program offers a unique and exciting academic environment. The Medical Genetics Training Program is fully accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Our center is also accredited by the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists for training in Molecular genetics and cytogenetics and Clinical Biochemical Genetics. The Program has close collaboration with the basic science Department of Biochemistry and Medical Genetics providing ample research opportunities. An accredited Graduate Program for Genetic Counseling has been established with the Department of Biochemistry and Medical Genetics, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba.

Qualifications:

Certification in either Medical Genetics by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or in Clinical Biochemical Genetics by the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists is required. Candidates with equivalent training will also be considered. Applicants must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. The successful candidate, depending on interests and expertise, will primarily work in the clinical realm, but can expect flexibility with respect to amount of protected time for research.

Compensation:

Compensation is derived from fee for service income and an annual supplementary payment as per Doctors Manitoba agreement.
