Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist

The Department of Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Division of Cardiac Anesthesia at The Hospital for Sick Children is inviting applications for the position of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist. This is a permanent, full-time position. The effective date of this appointment is July 1st 2020.
The candidate must have advanced Fellowship training in pediatric anesthesia as well as pediatric cardiac anesthesia. The successful candidate is expected to complement the Division’s academic, educational and research productivity. Additional responsibilities include clinical pediatric and pediatric cardiac anesthesia practice, research, education, and administrative responsibilities as required by a staff cardiac anesthesiologist.

The candidate must be eligible for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher at the University of Toronto. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is required. The candidate must have a strong academic/research background and hold an MD with Masters or Ph.D. The candidate will be expected to develop an academic plan with clear deliverables at the 1, 2 and 3 year mark. In addition, he/she will be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. The candidate must be proficient in English.

The Division of Cardiac Anesthesia is comprised of 8 cardiac anesthesiologists, and provides perioperative care for neonates and children with acquired and congenital heart disease. The Division is an integral component of The Labatt Family Heart Center.

Salary will be between the range of $200,000 – $416,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.
