The Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology, at Queen’s University is seeking an Academic Nephrologist to join our group.

Candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Preference will be given to those who either hold or are eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine with Fellowship training in Nephrology and other specialized kidney diseases.

The incumbent will assist the Division in fulfilling its Clinical and Academic mission within the Department of Medicine. The incumbent will participate in the provision of General Nephrology Conulstations to in-patients at the Kingston Health Sciences Centre and to out-patients in the SELHIN and appropriate follow-up of these patients; Chronic Kidney Disease care in a multidisciplinary Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic (as defined by the Ontario Renal Network); a Renal Transplantation service, both acute transplantation and clinical follow-up; and acute and chronic dialysis services (in-patient, in-centre, satellite and home dialysis care). Participation with other members of the Division in the delivery of Clinical and Educational Service with the Core Internal Medicine Clinical Teaching Units is expected. Candidates must demonstrate leadership in home dialysis therapies and transplantation, as well as demonstrated academic achievement in the areas of research and/or education. The incumbent is expected to have a major role in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching deliverables of the Division of Nephrology and must demonstrate strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions. Candidates must also provide evidence of an ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary and education-centred environment
