The Division of Neurology

A full-time permanent faculty position is available effective August 1, 2019 in the Division of Neurology at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), 555 University Avenue, Toronto, ON which is an academic health science centre dedicated to the care of children; affiliated with the University of Toronto.

The successful candidate should be an academically-oriented pediatric neurologist-epileptologist with specialty training in Pediatric Neurology and have completed Epilepsy Fellowship training in the treatment of complex pediatric epilepsy including surgical therapies. Certification in EEG is required. Advanced epilepsy neurophysiology skills are an asset.

Clinical duties will include the care of children admitted to the epilepsy monitoring unit and the general neurology service, ambulatory clinics, interpretation of routine and advanced EEG and epilepsy surgery evaluations. Education and supervision of residents and other learners in clinical neurology, epilepsy and neurophysiology will be integrated into these duties. Opportunities for research support are available for applicants with an established research program.

The successful candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto. Rank and salary ($210,000-250,000) will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be eligible for a benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability insurance, group insurance, pension plan, vision care, academic allowance and a relocation package.

All candidates must be able to function proficiently in English, hold an MD, MBBS or the equivalent thereto and be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or have comparable qualifications. Candidates must hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
