The Department of Emergency Medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba and the Emergency Program of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, invite applications for Academic Emergency Physicians commencing in 2019.

Clinical practice will be at either the Health Sciences Centre (HSC) Adult Emergency Department (80,000 visits/year) or the St. Boniface Hospital (SBH) Emergency Department (58,000 visits/year). SBH is a tertiary, teaching and research hospital affiliated with the University of Manitoba and is the regional cardiac centre for the province of Manitoba. HSC is the designated Trauma Centre for the Province as well as the centre for transplants, burns, neurosciences with a referral base of over a million people.


Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Emergency Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred. College of Family Physicians of Canada certification in Emergency Medicine will be considered if the candidate has a record of academic achievement. Demonstrated academic interest/experience in research, medical education, ultrasound, critical care, simulation or quality improvement would be an asset.


Remuneration is competitive using an Ontario-Prairie average and can be discussed with interested applicants. Dedicated funds to support or match a program of research or scholarly activity are available. Physicians may be eligible to receive a recruitment incentive.
