The Department of Pediatric and Neonatal Medicine is actively recruiting for full time pediatricians to join the team at the Timmins and District Hospital. Locum opportunities available for a trial period.

This is a community general consulting position that would include neonatal and pediatric inpatient and outpatient care. The neonatal unit provides intensive care to newborns and has a 5 bed capacity. Timmins and District Hospital manages babies with a gestational age of 34 weeks and above and serves as a Level 2A consulting neonatal center for Timmins serving a population of 45,000 but a total catchment area of approximately 150,000. Deliveries average 750 per year. Children requiring inpatient pediatric care are served by a five bed inpatient unit. Turnkey clinic space is available. Access to multidisciplinary asthma and diabetes clinics, as well as complex care clinic. Reasonable on call expectations, flexible work hours and vacation time.

Timmins and District Hospital is a 145 bed facility that is progressive, fully accredited, offering excellent diagnostics, and easy and quick access to resources.

Candidates must be eligible for licensure in Ontario and have obtained or be eligible to obtain specialty qualifications from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Supervision would be considered.

The successful candidate will be eligible for faculty appointment to the Northern Ontario School of Medicine and be involved in undergraduate and post graduate teaching, including pediatric residents.

Generous compensation package through an alternate funding plan with the Pediatric Associates of Timmins and District, HOCC on call stipend, Pediatric Stabilization Program and shadow billings. Hospital moving and relocation incentive available. Eligible for MOH Northern and Rural Recruitment and Retention (NRRR) initiative of $80K over 4 years.

Qualification Requirements
FRCPC, licensed or eligible for full independent licensure through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Supervision could be considered.  
NRP and PALS considered an asset.
